He does care about his children; Chen and Guang have done all that they can for their eldest daughter when it comes to her fear of elephants. They both requested that no elephants be brought into the palace, which the emperor agreed to.

History: Chen's upbringing was normal. His parents were good to him and they made sure that he had a good education. Years later, he meets Guang. They start out as friends and over the years, their relationship grows into something more and they eventually get hitched.


A few years after their wedding, Chen and Guang are blessed with their first child, Mingzhu. Four years after that, they are blessed with their second child, Jinhai.


Four years later, a circus comes to the capital and he takes his family to go see it along with the rest of their friends. During a performance, one of the elephants goes on a rampage. He, Guang, and Jinhai get separated from Mingzhu in the midst of all the chaos. Chen almost lost Mingzhu, but she was saved by Kou soldiers. The ordeal left Ming afraid of elephants and because of this, he and Guang requested to the emperor that no elephants be brought into the Imperial palace.


Years later, he became a member of Ren Kouen's War Council.


Relationships:


-Bai Guang | 45 | Alive (No Occupation - Human) - Chen's wife. The two of them have a good relationship. They met when Guang was 15 and at first, they started out as friends. As the years went by, their friendship grew into something more and he eventually marries Guang. Anytime he would freak out, she would merely sigh and go "Oh, Chen.".


-Bai Mingzhu | 22 | Alive (No Occupation - Human) - Chen's daughter. He's an adamant man when it comes to Ming's studies, though they still have a good father/daughter relationship. He hates seeing her be terrified whenever she sees an elephant and he and Guang have done all that they can to make sure that she doesn't suffer any more torment.


-Bai Jinhai | 18 | Alive (No Occupation - Human) - Chen's son. Like Mingzhu, he's very adamant about his Jinhai's studies. Still, they both have a good relationship.


-Liu Jiayi | 49 | Alive (Kou Empire Military Official/Lieutenant - Human) - He met Jiayi through Bingwen. The moment he met her, he was a bit put off by her forceful nature and somewhat pitied Bingwen for having won her affections. To this day, he still can't believe that they're married.


-Liu Bingwen | 66 | Alive (Kou Empire Messenger and Wind Magician - Retired) - Chen knows Bingwen because he works at the Imperial palace. They are both very good friends.


-Zheng Biyu | 44 | Alive (No Occupation - Human) - He met Biyu through Guang. They would play mahjong together on his days off from work.
